His technical expertise covers various areas of smart multimedia system, wireless/cellular mobile communications including 4G LTE/3GPP wireless communications, signal processing, image processing, computer engineering, radio frequency, user interface, augmented reality, digital and analog circuitry, automotive systems, semiconductor, semiconductor device fabrication, and construction machinery.

Before joining Studebaker & Brackett PC, Mr. Kang worked as a patent agent with a boutique patent firm in the Washington, DC area. Prior to moving to U.S., Mr. Kang worked at major Korean Intellectual Property law firms in Seoul, Korea, where he was involved in diverse intellectual property practices encompassing world-wide patent prosecution, post-grant patent challenges and patent litigation. He has successfully represented several multinational companies before the Korean Intellectual Property Office and Patent Court in patent prosecution and litigation matters.

Mr. Kang also runs a blog dedicated to U.S. Patent Related Information in Korean and English. ( He opened this blog in 2013 and it is well known as a Korean language website dedicated to U.S. patent practice.

Mr. Kang received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, from Korea University, Seoul, Korea, and he holds a Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law. Mr. Kang is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). He is also a registered Korean Patent Attorney and a member of the Korea Patent Attorney Association.
