Mug ShotMs. Kamiguri is a registered Japanese Patent Attorney having over five years of experience in the foreign section of a prominent Japanese intellectual property firm located in Tokyo, Japan. With a background in the fields of optical systems and the chemical physics of polymers, an M.S. degree, and having worked towards a Ph.D., she has a very diverse technical background. She is experienced in handling matters relating to the fields of electro-mechanics (digital cameras, printers, vehicle peripheral devices and medical devices) and chemistry (functional polymeric materials, organic compositions for medical use).

While with the Japanese IP firm, Ms. Kamiguri prepared U.S. patent applications based on Japanese priority applications, translating specifications from Japanese to English and from English to Japanese, reviewed and determined proposed courses of action and prepared responses to Office Actions received from both the U.S. and Japanese patent offices and advised clients on issues relating to both Japanese and U.S. patent law and practices.

Ms. Kamiguri received her B.S. degree in Environmental and Natural Resources from the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology. She received an M.S. degree in Environmental and Natural Resource Material Science, from the Graduate School of Agriculture at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, and did Ph.D. work in Polymer Science at the Graduate School of Agriculture at the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology. Ms. Kamiguri is proficient in English and Japanese and has a working knowledge of French, having spent a year of study in France.
